Using accessible paths, your tour guide will lead you through the spectacular scenery and explain the geological and historical value of the place. The impressive National Park was accepted as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004.
Next, your tour continues to the south where you will see the famous Geysir Spouting Spring. This fascinating fountain geyser is located right by the Hvita River, and it is Iceland’s most impressive Geyser, erupting about every 4-8 minutes (sometimes up to 40 meters high!). After your visit here, you will have time to enjoy a lunch on your own in an accessible restaurant next to the geyser. Following this, you will head out to experience the popular “Golden Waterfall”, one of the most visited highlights in Iceland. Using an accessible viewing platform, you will be able to have an up-close experience of the Gullfoss waterfall from above. As you star making your way back to the capital city of Reykjavik, you will also make a stop at the oldest volcano crater in the area, Kerid. The crater is about 3000 years old, 55 meters deep and offers a picture-perfect setting with its blue-green water and stark black and deep red slopes.
