Start your day by meeting your guide and accessible van at the cruise dock. From here, you will head out on a scenic driving tour of Downtown Nassau where you will see several highlights including the Government Buildings and beautiful old churches. You will make a short photo stop to get out and see the famous Queen’s Staircase, also referred to as the 66 steps. The staircase which was named after Queen Victoria, can be viewed from the bottom. It was carved out of solid limestone rock by slaves between 1793 and 1794, and is Nassau’s most visited attraction.
Next, your tour continues to Fort Charlotte, a British-colonial era fort built on a hill over-looking the harbor. Fort Charlotte is the largest fort in the Bahamas. Explore the site and enjoy the spectacular views surrounding the Fort. While some parts of the fort are not accessible, you will be able to enter the Museum and enjoy learning about the intriguing history of Bahamas.
Your final stop of the day is a visit to John Watling’s Distillery. At the distillery, there will be the opportunity for you to sample the rum and learn more about the production that takes place there.
